I never liked sushi. Being from NY kinda does that to someone from time to time, you get used to the cheap, poorly made stuff, and think that's all it is. I always thought sushi restaurants were scams! You pay a good 50-60 dollars to feel hungry 20 minutes later, not even close to full. But that couldn't be further from the truth regarding this place. I'm so picky it's incredible, and even more so when it comes to a type of food I don't even innately like! So color me surprised when I headed here with my fiancée and had the best sushi I've ever eaten. Literally. I had some chicken, too, and it was perfect. Not overcooked, not undercooked, not chewy, but perfect. Crunchy, tasty, excellent in every way. Also, something that not everyone picks up on is the quality of a fountain drink and/or a soda at a restaurant. Here, you can tell that the equipment and glasses are extremely clean. I ordered a soda and you could literally taste the cleanliness. If you know, you know. The aesthetic of a fun little Japanese store with its bar and traditional curtains meeting with the hyper organized "apple store" modern aesthetics makes it feel lively and fun, and the staff are always working extremely hard, carrying multiple dishes for multiple people at a time (stacking them across their arms with ease!!!!) so on and so forth. Can say that we paid a good price and actually walked away full and satisfied. Everything I'd known about sushi before this visit (now 2 visits) has been changed.
Really friendly staff with really impressive sushi. Walks past this nondescript place for years before trying it and ultimately regret not coming here sooner. Their sushi is incredible have they also have a variety of other Asian food options including ramen which was very good. They also have a full bar with seating, which is an easier way to get in and out without needing a table.
This was a great find. The waiters were kind and efficient. We sat at the Sushi Bar and watched each piece of sushi be prepared and given to us on a beautifully garnished plate. Everything was served quickly and with care. The sushi tasted very good and fresh. The sushi chefs acted professional and efficient. This Japanese House is perfect for all kinds of people since they also have plenty of non-sushi related options.
Loved coming here before when it was only a la carte, and love this place even more with the AYCE model. Somehow the quality is still the same IF not better. They don’t offer sashimi for the AYCE but that’s okay educase their speciality rolls and the quality of their fish is always great. 10/10 would recommend. And service is top notch too, Steven is always super friendly, attentive, and fast.
Best AYCE sushi in NOVA hands down, perfect postworkout meal. The sushi is fresh and delicious; definitely get the yellowtail jalepeno appetizer and the spicy salmon and tuna rolls. I come here almost every week. It's about $45 per person which is comparable to AYCE hotpot or kbbq. Great fast service as well.
We are a family that loves and appreciates good sushi, and we can be pretty harsh critics. Today we stopped by Torymon, and we were so pleasantly surprised. Prices were decent (avarage) but the quality of food was way above average. Our dishes arrived fast, presentation was beautiful and the quality of fresh fish was impressive. We had several rolls and two appetizers, and everything was delicious. Our server was attentive, fast and polite. We really enjoyed our Saturday lunch, and we can't wait to be back. Definitely recommend.
I love this place so much. This place was always our go-to spot when we were living in Rosslyn. Foods, services are always top notch and very reasonably priced. Even now when we live very far away already, once in a while we would come back because they are that good. Also, they just recently added AYCE menu. Haven't tried that yet since we were not that hungry but saw tables around us were having it, looked great! Will definitely try out next time. Service: AMAZING! Always amazing! Very attentive, friendly, professional.
Stopped in here for lunch and had a great experience. I had the Ajitama ramen, which was fantastic. Broth with lots of flavor and loved all the included ingredients. My daughter had the spicy version of this, which she liked also, but it was fairly hot for her. We also shared the Maki A to get some sushi in. While the tekka rolls are fairly basic, the fish was very fresh. Would definitely like to go back and try some of their specialty rolls. Servers were great - friendly and very attentive.
